On this day in 1935, former major league catcher and broadcaster Bob Uecker was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After playing for four teams in a six-year playing career, Uecker took to the mic, and was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2003, he received the Ford C. Frick Award, bestowed annually by the Baseball Hall of Fame to a broadcaster for “major contributions to baseball.”
